Family

Hi all!!

Sorry it's been awhile since my last blog. We have been soooo busy. Well, sort of. We have to leave the house in shifts so that means that right now we really can't go anywhere as a family. 3 weeks to go!!!! Bryce loved his visit from Mrs. Hiles, Mrs. O and Coach Sampson. He was so excited!! They brought him the movie Nims Island. Which of couse, he had to watch over and over and over ........ But that was ok, we enjoyed it as well! Thank Yall!

On Thursday Nannie and I loaded Bryce up for our first venture out of the house. We met the Crusons for "Happy Hour" at Sonic. He did great and loved the ride! Most of all ,he loved seeing RILEY!!! The next day we had to load up again for a trip to Scottish Rite. Bryce has developed some bed sores so they had to trim the cast back some. DRAMA!! HE made it thru, as for me and Shayna,we were drenched in sweat by the time it was over!! I never would have made it without her. Thanks for going with me Shay!!

Marty and I had a soft ball game on Friday night. Marty got a homerun!! Yea! Bryce and I were right there cheering him on!!! Go #2!!

Nannie Becky, Pawpa Gary and Emily headed off on Friday to Oklahoma to see Uncle Mark and Aunt Leslie and all the cousins. Emily got on a four wheeler for the first time. Yikes!! Uncle Mark says she is too sheltered and needs to experience more of the Country way of life!! Okay??

Shayna has decided to take the semester off of school. She really loves her job and wants to focuse and that for awhile. She is still dating Larry and is IN LOVE with her puppie dog Harley! Sorry Larry!!!

Emily still loves her new school. She has already been taking on some leadership roles. She has started a support group at her school called "BEARCAT BUDDIES". She goes into the special needs classroom every Monday and helps out where needed. Hopefully more and more children will follow in her foot steps! She also got elected to be on Student Corp.!! That means she has to be at school by 7:15 every morning!! LONG DAYS!!! Thank you Marty for everything you do and the sacrifices you make in order to make this year run as smoothley as possible! Luvs!!

A day in the life of Bryce!

Yea!!! Bryce is on the mend!!!!!!. He has actually been enjoying his day. He has watched his new movie "Hannah Montanna 3D movie" over and over and over! He LOVES it! We are trying to wean him off of some of his pain medication. He gets a little too groggy and just doesn't seem to act like himself. He has loved seeing all of his visitors and keeps asking when "RILEY" is coming. He LOVES Riley!!! The cast is due to come off on Oct. 10., and we are counting down the days already. He is such a trooper and just goes with the flow.
As for Emily, she has had some very long days this week, but seems to be really liking her new school. She has already been named the "tetherball QUEEN". I guess she beat everyone in her class???? She said "just wait till they see me play basketbal" OMG! (she not competitive or anything!)
Again, thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers
Love

Today was a GREAT day! Bryce came home around 3:30 this afternoon and has been smiling ever since. Nannie Becky had the living room all set up for his arrival with his favorite DVD'S in place.

Our family would to thank all of you for your prayers and support! They were greatly appreciated.

We would also like to give the Cruson family a special thanks for keeping our friends and family updated. We are very lucky to have such wonderful friends. Bryce is taking good care of Riley's horse. He loves it :)

Emily had a great first day at Stuard Elementry School in Aledo and is proud to be a BEARCAT!!! ( she does miss her old friends too....dont worry guys!)

A little ray of sunshine!

Bryce has had a better day. He was able to eat a little today and has acted as though he feels a bit better. He still has an IV and has not been out of bed yet, therefore a discharge to home tomorrow is probably not in the plan.
Hopefully, tomorrow will be a SUPER better day for him!

Rough Day for Bryce...

Bryce has had a really rough day today. The epidural that was in and giving him medicine to help with the pain was removed this morning and they started giving him the pain medicine by mouth. He began having an allergic reaction to what they thought was the pain medicine and switched him to another kind. It turns out that the reaction was possibly from the muscle relaxant that he was also taking. He had a second reaction tonight after another dose of that particular medicine was given. Now they are trying to find something that makes him comfortable and that his body can handle. He is not eating or drinking and has had to have his IV restarted. He is sleeping most of the time, but when he is awake he is crying.
Please continue to pray for healing and comfort for him. Strength, courage, and endurance for Marti, Marci, Shayna, Emily and their grandparents. Wisdom for the Drs. and nurses who are over his care.
The Unger family appreciates and are so thankful for all of the calls and prayers from everyone! He had alot of friends to love on him today and cheer him on! WE LOVE YOU BRYCE!

Post-Op Day 1......

The doctor just paid a visit to Bryce and said that he is doing great! Bryce says, "He's HUNGRY!" Great news on this first day after surgery!

Please continue to pray that each day brings good news & more strength for sweet Bryce and his family!
